You can download the recipe here, but you basically prepare the diabetes drink like you would a cup of tea. Heat a mug of water, add 1 teaspoon of real apple cider vinegar and add stevia to taste.

There’s been a lot written about the beneficial link between apple cider vinegar and diabetes.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Blood Sugar

According to WebMD, there is scientific speculation that apple cider vinegar is on par with some medications when it comes to controlling blood sugar. It works by partially blocking the digestion of starchy foods.

In a study, participants taking apple cider vinegar had an average calorie drop of 200 to 275 calories per day. That drop equates to about 1 & ½ pounds per month without trying.

There is a catch.

You need to buy unfiltered apple cider vinegar.

You can tell it’s unfiltered by looking at it. Unfiltered will look cloudy and have a blob of stuff on the bottom of the bottle. That blob is the active “mother”. It contains all of the probiotics and other substances that make it work for diabetes blood sugar control.

By far the most trusted brand of real apple cider vinegar is Braggs. If your grocery store has a good health section, you might be able to find it on the shelf, but you’re better off buying it on Amazon.com.


2. Use a Stopper

“Stopper” is the term I created to describe any non-calorie food, drink or activity that pulls you away from eating. They work great and stop overeating immediately.

Here’s how it works.

When temptation hits, turn to your go-to stopper. My favorites are strong-flavored mints, hot tea and flossing.

StopperAt a social event and really want to dive in to the dessert table? Grab a strong-flavored mint out of your pocket and pop it in your mouth. The strong flavor makes eating food undesirable.

Feeling snacky in the middle of the afternoon? Brew a cup of tea and promise yourself that you’ll finish the tea before having a snack. Because tea takes a long time to drink, it gives your brain time to get past the craving.

Want to “Boredom eat” in front of the TV at night? Grab some dental floss and use it. Flossing leaves your mouth feeling clean, which makes you not want to dirty it up with food.

Most diabetes stop dieting because they try to give up all of their favorite foods overnight. This leaves you feeling tired, discouraged and moody.

For different (read that as better) results, think add before subtract.

When you add super foods to your diet, your body is flooded with the nutrients it needs. This quiets hunger and stops cravings before they start.

Super foods include beans, non-starchy vegetables, nuts, seeds and low-sugar fruits, like berries.

4. Unlock the Psychological Key to Weight Loss

  1. I am confused about how to approach weight loss when I take long acting insulin at night along with oral meds. If I need low insulin levels to lose weight, but have to take insulin for high bloid sugar, how does that work?
